We all hear the many ways that holistic oils can help improve our health. They can be consumed orally, put on your skin via roll-ons, lotions, massage oils as well as used in a diffuser. My personal favorite is using a diffuser. It is so easy! You just add water and your holistic oil of choice and you’re ready to go!
Using a diffuser helps cleanse the air and improve the overall quality of the air you are breathing in. When you add in a couple drops of your favorite holistic oil, the room will fill with that aroma and you will be able to breathe in the benefits of the oil.
There are several different types of diffusers you can choose from! Heat Diffuser, Ultrasonic Diffuser, Evaporative Diffuser, Nebulizer Diffuser. I have always used Ultrasonic diffusers around my home. After doing the research for this blog post, I will DEFINITELY be looking into broadening my horizons with my diffuser collection!
One main reason I use my diffuser is to help with sleep. Every night I put drops of Lavender into my diffuser to help me get a good nights rest. Lavender is one of the more popular essential oils around. It is mostly used for its calming nature and it’s ability to help you rest, this is perfect for insomnia.
In the morning, I put some drops of Lemon into another diffuser that I have. Lemon in your diffuser purifies the air while giving you an uplifting aroma to boost the start of your day.
Yes, I have multiple diffusers! I like keeping them separate depending on what type of benefit I am looking to get out of it. Sometimes when you don’t have time to clean them every day, like me, using one type of oil per diffuser is a great way to go.
During the day, I have two remedies I like to switch between. If I am not feeling the best, whether it’s my stomach, head, or just having a bad fibro day, I have my go to, Peppermint! Peppermint is hands down one of my favorite essential oils. With all of my issues, I do not know where I would be without it in my daily routine. Peppermint helps to alleviate the occasional stomach upset and promotes healthy respiratory function. Peppermint also helps make you feel at ease when you breathe it in. Peppermint is just the perfect scent for when you having a rough day.
The other remedy I like to use during the day is a nice mixture of Eucalyptus and Lemon. I usually go with 70% Eucalyptus and 30% Lemon. The Eucalyptus helps you feel relaxed while promoting feelings of clear breathing, open airways and for creating soothing sensations. Mixed with the Lemon, you will also get the benefits of the lemon oil. This mixture will keep you feeling relaxed while also allowing you to stay focused on your day.
